This tasty sandwich is the combination of two of the ultimate comfort foods and is loaded with gooey cheese and a ton of pizza flavor! These pizza grilled cheese sandwiches make an easy weeknight dinner, a quick lunch or a super tasty after school snack!

    • Everyone loves it! - This is a family favorite that everyone loves! You get all of the deliciousness of pizza without having to order out!
    • You can personalize it- One of our favorite things about these sandwiches is that everyone can personalize them to their tastes! You can make them with just pepperoni and cheese or add any of your favorite pizza toppings! Some of the ones we love are green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, and bacon! The whole family can make their own variation of pizza sandwich!

    🥫 Ingredients needed:

    • 8 Slices Italian Bread
    • 8 tablespoon Butter- softened to room temperature
    • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • Pepperoni- 16 slices deli size or 48 slices of regular pepperoni
    • 8 Slices Provolone Cheese
    • 8 Slices Mozzarella Cheese
    • 8 tablespoon Pizza Sauce or Marinara Sauce

    🔪 How to make Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

    Place softened butter in a small bowl add garlic powder and Italian seasoning, stir together until everything is well mixed.

    Butter one side of each slice of bread with the butter and herb mixture.

    Place bread with the buttered side down in a large nonstick skillet over medium low heat.

    Place one slice of mozzarella and one slice of provolone on the piece of bread.

    Then spoon about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce onto the slices of cheese and spread evenly.

    Layer 4 slices of pepperoni onto the pizza sauce. If using regular size pepperoni place 6 pieces on the cheese layer.

    Place another slice of mozzarella an provolone over the pepperoni layer.

    Top off the sandwich with another piece of bread, butter side up.

    Allow the sandwich to cook for 3-4 minutes over medium heat and then carefully flip and continue cooking an additional 3-4 minutes.

    Continue cooking, flipping occasionally until the sandwich is golden brown with a crispy exterior and the cheese melts.

    Use your favorite sauce

    Whether you love a specific jar of pasta or pizza sauce or have a special recipe for homemade marinara sauce use whatever you love! If you prefer garlic butter or alfredo sauce on your pizza you can use that too!

    Use your favorite bread

    We like to use Italian or white bread for these sandwiches because those kinds of bread take on the flavor of the garlic, Italian herbs and butter really well. However if you prefer another type of bread you can use it! Sourdough is a great option, wheat bread, or even Texas toast!

    What to serve with these sandwiches?

    For a quick meal serve these up with a side salad, or some tomato soup! For a delicious lunch pair them with some chopped fruits or veggies like a sliced apple or carrot sticks.
