    Lemon strawberry shots are made with homemade strawberry syrup, vodka, and a twist of lemon. It's the perfect summer drink!

    Looking for a fun, fruity drink that's easy to make and super refreshing? This strawberry shot with lemon is sweet, tangy and made with a homemade strawberry syrup that's as versatile as it is delicious.

    Once you make the syrup, you can use it in everything from cocktails to lemonade to iced tea. It's one of those little extras that makes you look like you've got it all together. What more could you want?

    This little cocktail pairs beautifully with light summer dishes like jerk chicken sandwiches, shrimp pasta salad, or as an after-dinner treat. When you're entertaining, make a batch of the syrup ahead of time so you can mix drinks in minutes.

    Ingredients needed:

    Ingredient notes:

    • 1 oz. vodka
    • .25 oz. fresh lemon juice
    • .5 oz. homemade strawberry syrup (see recipe)
    • .25 oz. triple sec
    • Lemon peel for garnish

    Substitutions

    For a family-friendly option, leave out the vodka and triple sec, and stir the syrup into sparkling water or lemonade for a bubbly, refreshing treat.

    How to make a Lemon Strawberry Shot

    For one drink, mix all the ingredients in a shot glass. You can also batch the recipe and pour it over ice into glasses.

    Step 1

    Pour lemon juice into a shot glass.

    Step 2

    Add strawberry syrup. To make your own strawberry syrup, combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 2 cups chopped strawberries in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Then reduce to medium-low and cook 10 minutes more, or until strawberries break down and syrup thickens. Strain this mixture into a jar for easy storage and allow it to cool before using.

    Step 4

    Top with vodka and a splash of Triple Sec.

    Garnish with a lemon peel and enjoy.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 oz. vodka
    • .25 oz fresh lemon juice
    • .5 oz strawberry syrup notes
    • .25 oz triple sec
    • Lemon peel for garnish

    For the Strawberry Syrup

    • 1 cup water
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 cups strawberries

    Instructions
     

    • To your shot glass, add vodka, lemon juice, strawberry syrup, and triple sec. Garnish with a swirl of lemon peel.

    To make strawberry syrup

    • In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 2 cups chopped strawberries.
    • Bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes.
    • Reduce to medium low, and cook 10 minutes more, or until strawberries are breaking down and
    • syrup is beginning to thicken.
    • Strain this mixture into a jar for easy storing, and allow to cool before using.
