This slow cooker meal is one of those meals my whole family likes and it doesn't take a lot of ingredients and even less prep time! Pull apart white meat chicken is bathed in rich, and flavorful garvy. Serve it over white rice or mashed potatoes with a side of green beans or corn for a week night family meal like no other.
This chicken and gravy in the crock-pot recipe is less than 5 minutes in prep and the gravy is made in the slow cooker without you having to stir!

✨ Here is why this recipe is amazing:

    • This is a set it and forget it type recipe. Dump everything in the crock-pot, set it and dinner is ready when you get home.
    • Everyone loves chicken and gravy!

    🍗 Ingredients needed:

chicken and gravy recipe ingredients on a white surface with text overlay, chicken breasts, cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning packet, chicken broth.

Here is a visual overview of the ingredients in the recipe. Scroll down to the recipe at the bottom for quantities.

    📝 Ingredient notes:

    • 4 Chicken breasts - use boneless skinless chicken breasts for easy shredding
    • 10.5 oz. cream of chicken soup -
    • 1 ranch seasoning mix - 3 tablespoons if using the large jar of ranch mix
    • 1 c chicken broth or water - I use homemade chicken stock but will use stock in a box when I am out.

    🔄 Substitutions

Boneless skinless chicken thighs can be substituted for the chicken breasts but I would use 8 thighs in place of the 4 breasts.

Cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery soup could be substituted for the cream of chicken soup if you are in a pinch.

Water can be swapped out for the chicken broth but you are going to need to adjust the seasonings after the meal cooks.

📝 Frequently asked questions, answers and tips:

My gravy is thin, how do I thicken it?

I make a cornstarch slurry to thicken this gravy if it happens to be too thin. Whisk together 2 Tbsp. cold water with 2 Tbsp. cornstarch in a small bowl. try to get out the lumps. Pour the slurry over the gravy and shredded chicken. Add the lid back on and let cook for 10 minutes or until thickened.

    👩‍🍳 Chef Tip

Make a double batch in the slow cooker and serve the leftovers for lunch at the office.
