4th of July Strawberries

Sarah Mock
These 4th of July strawberries are a variation of white chocolate-dipped strawberries but without the candy melts and with a patriotic flair.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Strawberries Leaves attached
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 20 marshmallows
  • ½ cup colored sugar bluie

Instructions

  • Wash fresh, unblemished strawberries that still have their leaves intact.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, cover the strawberries in vodka and soak for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour, drain the strawberries and pat each one dry with a paper towel or lay the berries on a clean, dry towel to dry.
  • While the soaked strawberries are drying, melt the marshmallows in the microwave in 30 seconds increments on high, stirring frequently until the marshmallows form a marshmallow cream.
  • Using a fork dunk the dry strawberries about two-thirds of the way up the strawberry, leaving the 'shoulders' of the strawberry exposed.
  • While the marshmallow is still sticky, dunk the coated strawberry in blue-colored sugar allowing the white marshmallow to still be exposed to keep with the red white and blue these of these strawberries.
  • Allow the dipped strawberries to set up before serving them.
